In the News

Some of the action from the Gorge is featured on the cover of this month's Latitude 38. There's a great write up of the Double Damned race on page 102. Pick-up a copy or check out the online version here: http://www.latitude38.com/eBooks/Sept2009.html

Featured Boat - Bruzer

Published in

Hull #127 was built in 1986 and finally received a deck five years later. She was meticulously put together by hell man and wonderful human, Garsky (Gary Tracy). Garsky was a downhill speed record skateboarder, high speed water-skier, and one of the finest graduates from the Santa Cruz fiberglass university. We had the luck of purchasing Garsky's Bruzer just before he signed off about five years ago. With the hard work of my wife Christa, Wes Watts and the boys at Elkhorn composites she is back. Still the best feature of the boat is Garsky's flush molded beer holders (port and starboard).

New Website

Welcome to the New Moore 24 website! The new site should be much more dynamic and interactive. A big thanks out to Fred Cox for helping me setup the new site.

Everyone is encouraged to register a username with the site. This will allow you to comment on stories and in the forums. It will also allow you to post and edit your own boat for sale ads. If you are a class member, be sure to indicate that when you register. Once your membership is verified you will have access to the Class Directory section of the site.

Enjoy!

Double Damned

Nine Moore 24s parlayed the Gorge regatta into the Double Damned race the following weekend. Morgan Larson again took the top spot and set a new course record. Wind speeds hit 40 knots with boat speeds in the high teens. Here is some great video of the race from Rowan sailing on Mooretician.

Featured Boat - Fish Tacos

The barren Midriff Islands about ½ way up the Sea of Cortez have been calling to me for years and Extra Action seemed the perfect "cruising" boat to go and check them out. The plan was the two of us to drop the boat to the launch ramp in Bahia de Los Angles and go for a week of tee shirt floating while others were enjoying their turkey indoors.
